Treble Booster / Overdrive / Distortion

"From Dan Coggins creator of Lovetone"

The Cogmeister is a single guitar booster / overdrive / distortion / fuzz pedal containing a trio of compatible sections arranged in fixed series pattern; these comprise the Push, Drive, and Solo sections – each featuring its own true/hard-wire bypass stompswitch and corresponding LED.

The Push section is "The only part of the Cogmeister that reveals any reference to a previous design" (1 ) By lowering the Low knob, eliminating the lower frequencies, the push section resembles a Dallas Rangemaster or a Vox Treble Booster in frequency and distortion.  Turning Low clockwise re-introduces the lower frequencies creating a powerful "full Boost pedal" Using a single "triode" clipping transistor this section produces asymmetrical clipping

Drive creates symmetrical clipping. Bass is slightly emphasized while the treble is slightly de-emphasized created a cab sim effect. Together, they recreate the sound of an overdriven tube amplifier.

Utilizing the frequency switch, the "most scooped" setting sounds similar to the Fender Silverfaced amplifiers, the flat emulates the Hiwatt amps and the "mild" scoop referencing a Marshall with no master volume or the Vox AC30.

Solo uses "Zener Diode" clipping. With Peak control at zero expect 3-4 db of boost with ability to add mids along a bell curve centered at 1.9 kHz. Level controls the entire volume of the pedal and at zero could even be utilized as a kill switch.
