The Moby Dick is not just another tape delay. The Moby Dick goes beyond traditional tape emulation, with unique and creative tools packed inside. Experimental features alongside the warmth and charm of a vintage tape delay. It is a spiritual successor to its namesake, but loaded with new quality-of-life and sonic ingredients.
BLEND controls the blend between wet and dry. Can be 100%. Wet and Dry are at equal
weight at 12 o’clock
REPEATS controls the amount of repeats or feedback.
MULTIHEAD: In the 12 O’Clock Position (OFF), it is just a simple delay that tracks the tap tempo. As you turn clockwise from center, it will slowly bring up the mix of a triplet delay.
As you turn counter-clockwise, it will slowly bring up the mix of a dotted eighth delay.
SATURATION: Traditional tape saturation on the delay lines. Just simple, lush, grit.
FM TEXTURE: Experimental texture knob. The pitch of the delay trails is modulated by a white noise signal. It can sound somewhat unnatural at times, but in the context of a mix, it can add a ton of depth and character and presence to the delay.
WOW & FLUTTER: Modulation. Rate is tied to the delay time.
TAPE AGE adds Low Pass filtering on input of delay and in the feedback path as well causing each subsequent delay to be darker and warmer than the last one.
DOUBLETRACKER: Delay is fed through a short, single repeat delay (around 30ms). It only affects the wet signal, but adds a lot of fullness to the delay.
