Red Panda Lab's "Tensor" gives you live reverse and tape stop effects, pitch shifting, time stretching and hold functions that you can combine in creative ways. Slow down, speed up and rewind in real time. Play in reverse with pitch shifting. Stretch or compress time with no pitch change. Loop, overdub, and randomly slice phrases up to 9.4 seconds (4.7 seconds in stereo). The Tensor is always listening, so you can instantly rewind what you just played and seamlessly shift between forward and reverse. It constantly analyzes what you play at three levels - phrase, note, and waveform - to choose the best splice points, so you can focus on your playing.
Intelligent, multi-layer randomization adapts to the knob settings. The results range from occasional CD skips, stutters, and rhythmic repeats to random slicing and erratic pitch shifts. Both foot switches have momentary and latching modes to inject pitch jumps, glitches, or instantly rewind what you just played.
The Tensor™ is in a pedalboard-friendly enclosure with all jacks on top. All controls are immediately accessible with well-spaced knobs for live tweaking, and USB MIDI for recording and sequencing.

I use this alongside a Chase Bliss Mood to make loops out of material that later gets tracked in songs. The Tensor does meat and potatoes styled looping with a few nice tricks up it's sleave. I'm able to get predictable results out of the loops (which is good). The Mood, i get less predictable results, but sometimes great art. The Tensor does the basics really well. My only complaint is that when I shift the time knob left to slow down the loop, it starts to loose its fidelity and sound a little crunchy and grainy. I'm not sure why that is. Time doesn't change the pitch, it just slows down playback time. I wish it kept the clarity.
